Mad for Plaid

Hello Everyone! I hope you had such a wonderful holiday season, I have loved seeing all your posts the past couple of weeks of Christmas, snow, yummy foods and New Years activities! I spent my New Years over in central Washington playing in the snow, outdoor ice skating, and spending some great quality time with my boyfriend’s family and our friends 🙂

When I got back home, I had dinner with my girl friend’s from high school, we haven’t gotten together in what seems like forever! Anyways, I’m telling you this because we all went around the table and talked about what our New Year’s Resolutions were…and that’s when I realized I haven’t given it much thought. So the past couple days I have been reflecting on what I want my 2015 to consist of, taking much inspiration from my friends, and thought I would share mine with you all.

BE HEALTHY! Like many of you, a new year brings a new motivation for me to get fit..but it’s much more than just that. I’ve had a few little health kicks this past year and during every single one I feel so much more energized, awake, motivated and happy! I’ve always wanted to make health a habit and part of my lifestyle so this year I am driven to do so!

EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS! Being raised in the beautiful PNW, I think I easily take advantage of the beauty that is constantly surrounding me. This year I would love to find more outdoor hobbies like hiking, bike riding, snow and water sports, and taking simple walks.

BE DARING! By daring, I mean with my style. I would love to try looks that I haven’t tried before, wear that thing that I’m thinking I can’t pull off, and not being afraid to stand out.

BE OPTIMISTIC! I always look up to the people that can see the light at the end of every tunnel, or the rainbow after the storm. I want to focus on the good in each situation that passes my way. “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”

READ! I went through a period of time when I would read every single night, sometimes it would keep me up all night long. I got three new books for Christmas that I’m dying to get my hands on and I am going to prioritize time to do it.

GIVE BACK! Something I have always wanted to activitily do is volunteer and find different ways to give back to my community. I’ve been researching different events and organizations to give me a great start.

TRAVEL! No matter how close or faraway the location is, whether its a drive away or a flight away..I want to start seeing different places. I want to gain experiences, memories, and see different wonders in this beautiful beautiful world.

I could probably ramble on and on about things I want to do this next year but I will keep it to these seven for now. I’m sure you’ll see the things I make happen this year if you keep following my blog! Now, to the fashion side of this lengthy post…I had way too much fun in this shoot! It was a bit more on the edgy side, but that’s what I love! I am featuring two of my favorite online destinations..Windsor and Nasty Gal. This statement necklace has quickly become my new favorite; it dazzles up any outfit of mine. And these black mildly distressed denim are perfect for any fashion sense you may have! Make sure to check out both their sites!
