Oh, New York City. Where do I even begin?
Let’s start at the beginning; my red eye flight. I already have a problem with insomnia but I swear it triples the minute I try sleeping on an airplane. Our flight landed in the beautiful New York at 5:00am…their time. That is 2:00am Seattle time…are we freaking crazy? Fashion week’ll do that to you. Yet, since it was already the morning and the city was awake, we decided to stay awake with it, which means I received (maybe) an hour and a half of tossing and turning and neck pain while trying to nap on the plane. We had a packed day ahead of us, full of hair & makeup applications at an event, fashion shows, blogger cruises, and after parties. Yikes. But, I am typing to you all right now which means I made it. Some of these things I will get to later on in the post so we will get started with my favorite look of the week! (If you’ve read my previous travel posts, you know that my ADD is out the yang and it’s always hard for me to document as many photos as I’d like to…but I did manage to get some to share).
I was in New York with two other bloggers, Morgan Lillian of www.morganlillian.com and Gergana Ivanova of www.fashionismyforte.com. We were having way too much fun roaming the streets this day. There were celebs, bloggers I admire, and photographers grabbing you to snap images left and right. It truly was such a surreal couple of hours and the fashion that I witnessed was out of this world. The cool thing about NYC, is that there truly is a million and one different types of styles in every direction you turn, but that’s the beauty of it. People really use it to express themselves. Plus, I got to come home with lots of fashion inspo.
The shows were something every girl (and lots of boys too) dream of. These specific images were from the Desigual show. As you enter the center, you can truly feel the passion throughout the room. Everybody here for one reason, their love of fashion. You connect with people instantly and leave inspired. It’s truly magic.
70’s style. It’s all about the bell bottoms, fun prints, flared sleeves. I love everything about it. I’m eager to do some serious online shopping and find more pieces.
You absolutely cannot got to NYC without some serious site seeing. It’s honestly mind-blowing the amount of things to go do and see in this city, and although I saw a lot..I didn’t get to see it all. I guess that just leaves more “firsts” for my next visit. One thing I obsess over when it comes to New York is the buildings. Each building is so unique, with different color palettes, different visions, they tell different stories. It’s pretty incredible. If you ever get a chance to make it to New York City, look up. There’s so much going on above you, not just right infront of you on the street.
A day of exploring called for some serious comfort. Another fall trend that in my opinion is to die for, is the sporty style. Athletic tops and sneakers will be my go to’s in the upcoming months.
Forever 21 top old, similar here | Denim old, love these & these | New Balance sneakers (couldn’t find my exact color) but there’s some on sale here & pairs I love here & here | Forever 21 backpack | Forever 21 hat | Zara jacket (around waist) | PS aren’t these sunnies so cute?! I’ve attached some fun ones for you to try here & here
I would have to say, the most fun event that we were invited to was the #NYFWcruise hosted by Gigi New York. We boarded a yacht full of amazing bloggers, witnessed a fashion show on the top deck, and got to socialize with each other, the brand, and the sponsors like crazy. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mckenna Bleu (who I have admired forever) and Megan Runion, who were the sweetest ladies!
Before I leave you, here are some NY highlights that did not get photographed:
-We were invited to a private event by Nylon Magazine where we shared a VIP table (maybe only 10 people total at one point) with Joe Jonas, Gigi Hadid & Rihanna. Justin Timberlake and Candice Swanepoel were attending as well. CRAZY.
-We ate pizza…for a majority of our meals, no complaining. Although most of our meals weren’t until 4pm…on the go life.
-We had dinner at Nobu, where I had the best sushi I will probably ever have in my entire life. We also sat right next to Pharrell Williams.
-I got room service mac & cheese. No regrets.
-If you follow me on insta, you would have seen I got to meet Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth from the last season of The Bachelorette, (I’m a super fan okay).
There were so many more memories created that will truly last a lifetime. Until next time New York City…xx
