2016 Best In Hair

Now that 2017 is now in full swing, I thought I would do a round up of my top favorites that I discovered in hair care products / tools in the past year! I get a lot of questions about how I curl my hair, how I keep it healthy being a blonde, and what products I use, so these are all at the top of my list! I’ll go into details  about each one below:

Shampoo & Conditioner – For both my shampoo and conditioner, I like to splurge a little. They are products that you are constantly using, and can either make or break you so I like to know that what I am putting into my hair is helping it, not hindering it. My all time favorites are the Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner. They are made with Oribe’s Gold Lust Oil giving them repair and restorative properties from damage. I do my best to not use heat on my hair daily, but I do blow dry, curl it, and love being out in the sun, so restorative products are very important for me personally!

Hair Mask – This is my favorite mask, PERIOD. And the great part, it is relatively cost effective compared to a lot of other masks I have tried!! I refer this to people all the time, and couldn’t name a single person who doesn’t absolutely love it! It leaves your hair feeling soft and moisturized like nothing else does. If you are obsessed with deep conditioning, this is the one product you have to get from my whole post today. (Then make sure to message me telling me how much you love it!!)

Hair Oil – Since my hair is on the dryer side, I live for my hair oils. I love MoroccanOil and this is one product from them that I just cannot turn away from. If you have more dry hair like mine, this is a must!

Best Brush – I have touched on this before, but I never find a brush that I love more than my Wet Brush. It is specially made to be able to run through both wet and dry hair, without causing any breakage. It is truly a life saver and I have noticed a huge difference in my breakage using it!

Blow Dryer – I got my T3 Micro Blow Dryer a couple months back and it is amazing. What I love most (besides the looks because it is so darn cute) is how lightweight it is! Say goodbye to the days of having to support your blow drying arm with your other arm because it is getting so sore!! Blow drying is a chore, but not anymore!

Dry Shampoo – So I put two dry shampoo’s on this list, and I actually use them both for different reasons! So first I will touch on the one marked ‘dry shampoo’ above, which is my Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. What I love about this one is how it leaves your hair feeling soft and product-less. If you are someone who doesn’t like the feel of product build up, then you will love this! You cannot even tell it is there besides the fact that your hair may feel even softer than before.

Hair Powder – Now this is the other dry shampoo and this one is for my greasy hair ladies – I AM WITH YOU. Sometimes I even feel like I need to add a little the day that I shampoo just to prevent potential grease that could occur during the day! This dry shampoo is absolutely amazing, my most favorite ever!! I will usually use the Gold Lust one mentioned above on day 1 and 2, and this one days 2 -3/4 depending how much I’m needing to shampoo that week. If you are brunette, you will still love this, but you just won’t be able to use it too many days in a row or your roots will start to look matte and lighter. With that said, I do know lots of brunettes who use and love it.

Heat & UV Protectant – I use a cream based heat protectant called Balm D’Or by Oribe. I have been using this for about a year now and it does an amazing job keeping my hair protected from my hot tools and from being out in the sunshine! It even helps with the all over feel of your hair, helping it feel softer, more moisturized and more tame.

Curling Iron – I love my T3 micro curling iron!! It has the white and rose gold coloring of my blow dryer so of course they look absolutely adorable in your bathroom, but they really do work so well. You can adjust the heat, which is so important, and it doesn’t pull or tug on your hair. I get a lot of questions about how I curl my hair, and I use this daily, doing both methods; around the barrel and inside the barrel, depending on what style curls I want that day!

Shine & Moisture Cream – This stuff is absolutely INCREDIBLE, every single person should own this!! It is a top seller at our salon for sure, and all of our stylist use it too. It is called Supershine Moisture Cream by Oribe and something you should know about all Oribe products, is they are a little more spendy compared to what you are probably used to spending but they last forever! They are much more concentrated than other product lines, so a little bit truly goes a long way! I only use a dime to nickel size of this when my hair is damp, and it is the number one product I can thank for keeping my hair looking and feeling soft and moisturized! It really makes the biggest difference. Promise!

That’s all for my must haves as you guys start a new year! If you are looking at adding any of them to your product collection, feel free to reach out and ask any questions! Happy FriYAY, hope all you have a great weekend and fun Superbowl Sunday! Xx, Karlie

Thank you for sharing! This has been so helpful to me. Do you have any hair care tips for pre and/ or post workout?
