In case you didn’t know, Al and I spent the past week in Arizona with two other couples who happen to be some of our closest friends. We have all been talking about doing a couple’s trip FOREVER and finally bit the bullet and planned it!
We go to Arizona a lot since my in laws have a house there, and I have done lots of Arizona posts in the past, but I thought it would be fun to reflect on our trip & share with you guys what we did!
We arrived in Arizona at about 7pm and were exhausted, so we just Uber’d to the house then went to our favorite pizza spot, Grimaldi’s. If you haven’t had pizza here, it is a must!! Might be my favorite pizza I’ve ever had, no joke! The next day we had breakfast at Mojo, which is a little ‘morning joint’ at Grayhawk Golf Club. I always get an iced americano and a Tree Hugger acai bowl 🙂 Then we spent a couple hours laying out in the sun and at night we all went to TopGolf for games and dinner! All three of the boys love golfing and us girls…not so much, so this is the perfect date night since you get to hit a couple balls then eat/drink then hit a couple balls then eat/drink, etc. On our third day, the boys went golfing so us girls went shopping YAY! I swear, I do way more shopping whenever I’m in Arizona than I ever do at home. The shopping there is just better! I got a new pair of sunnies (I got the all black ones) which I was stoked about since it’s been years since I’ve actually had a good pair that I loved! Later that night, we wanted to checkout the new The Mission at the Keirland but they didn’t have openings til 10:30 so we went to one of our favorite steakhouses, Fleming’s! I got shrimp & scallops that were FAB. After, we hit up Whiskey Row which is Al and I’s most favorite bar of all time! Dierks Bentley owns it so it is a country bar, and every time we go we spend the whole night dancing and singing at the top of our lungs. It’s amazing & if you know me personally, RIGHT up my alley. On the next day of our trip, we went to spring training to watch the Mariners play. We aren’t by any means the BIGGEST baseball fans, (minus our friend Jordan who this one definitely a lifelong dream of his!! Haha), but we were so happy we went and experienced it! It was a beautiful day so sitting in the grass, drinking sangria, and watching baseball felt like the perfect thing to do! On our way home we hit In n’ Out (a must) and later for dinner went to Isabella’s Kitchen. If you have been following me for awhile, I’m sure you have seen photos that I have posted here because it is one of the most photogenic restaurants ever!! When we woke up the next morning, we hit up Nekter juice bar for some juice & smoothies. (Popeye’s Acai is da bomb). Then we hiked up Pinnacle Peak & went out to lunch before the boys went golfing again. While they were golfing, us girls decided to hit up the mall & My Sister’s Closet. Even their secondhand stores are crazy good compared to ours!! We found some major steals. That night was our last night, so we decided to go to Al and I’s FAV restaurant down there, Sumomaya!! We try to go here every time we are in Scottsdale! It’s a “Mexican Asian Cuisine” and they have the best food and the best flavors!! I always get sushi & you HAVE to start with their edamame…greatest in the world. When we woke up the next morning it was departure day (sad) so we grabbed breakfast at First Watch where I get avocado today & am obsessed with it!!! Then we had to head to the airport to come back home…to snow.
Our trip felt like it flew by & went way too fast but I am so happy we are blessed with experiences like that with some of our best friends. Al & I are headed back down to Arizona in April & hoping for some nice heat down there! So we just gotta push through a couple more weeks in WA til we are back in the sunshine 😉
Here’s a couple (iPhone) photos of our trip! Thanks for stopping by today!!
